More like 'Bewildered?' -, 2008-11-10
This major motion picture ,based loosely on the original television show,had the potential to be one of the funniest films of the year and beyond.Jim Carey was offered the role of Darrin and turned it down.After seeing this movie ,I understand why.Even if Carey accepted the role, with Jenny McCarthy as Samantha,the film was doomed from the start.The script was too far removed from the typical funny bewitching plots of the hit series.How about actor John Lithgowe as Larry Tate? Michael Caine was excellent,yet too serious here. Nowhere is Doctor Bombey or even Tabitha! The supporting characters added so much fun to the original show.Bernie Fox ,Erin Murphey,and even Henry Gibson could have done cameoes.The astral traveling,botched spells,the witches council,Sabrina the evil sister,and pop-up appearances were each an intrinsic element for the show's magickal chemistry.Shirley MacLaine was perfect for this type of role,yet the script was so bad it ruined her spiritual aurora.Shirley says the part was forgetable.What a shame.Both Kidman and Ferrell are great actors ,but not for this lame romantic comedy feature.

Hideous, 2008-10-31
Absolutely the worst movie I saw in a theater during 2005. And, yes, I'm including "Dukes of Hazzard", which was marginally funnier. I love Nichole Kidman. I love Will Ferrell. But they are two flavors that mixed about as well as peanut butter pickles in this movie. Its awful. Truly, truly awful.

Extremeley Funny And Lovable!!!, 2008-09-09
Even though it's not reall like the classic tv series, it's still a pretty good movie. It's actually very funny! But, if you are a hard-core fan of the original 'Bewitched' tv show, you may be disappointed. It's more about a real witch named Isabel Bigelow being asked by a snobby mortal actor named Jack Wyatt to play Samantha in a tv remake of Bewitched. She finds out that he's just using her to stand in so that he can be the main star of the show as Darrin. Even though Isabel tries to stop casting spells, she still casts a few to take her revenge against Jack. If you love comedy, the tv series, Nichole Kidman, and Will Ferrell, you'll love BEWITCHED!!!

Its like a 1940's love story with more magic and twists, 2008-07-31
I won't go into plot points since other reviews have covered that. But if you were expecting the original bewitched you might be disappointed because the old one was all about(Samantha) where this one is more split evenly between the couple as well as the supporting cast. The love story between Kidman and Ferrell reminded me of Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn, "Bringing Up Baby, Holiday. Sure its a bit silly, unbelievable, and there are some jokes for jokes sake but its the innocence of it all that makes it so bewitching :)I felt good after watching this movie in a way that reminds me of the old love stories. On top of loving the story, Kidman's performance was amazing. How she so subtly changes her voice to fit the role and expressions I have never seen from her before. It was a real pleasure. Ferrell was also enjoyable for me because the strength of Kidman's character really complimented his goofiness. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Not worth my time, 2008-07-25
I was bored and tired one evening and found myself watching most of this movie. It was terrible. Whoever thought casting Will Ferrell as a romantic lead was a good idea needs to have their head checked. He's funny (sometimes), but he's not a romantic guy. Nicole Kidman has potential at least. I would not recommend this unless you find yourself with absolutely nothing else to do.
