***** should've been released on a different label., 2006-11-13
If this CD was put on a different label with better promotion tactics and a not-so damn isolated fan base, this could've been the biggest album of 2003 in the midwest. Esham had made a professional video for the song "Woo Woo Woo Woo" which even caught the short-lived fame from WJLB (local rap station in Detroit); however, due to his newly-found affiliation with the clowns, and the fact that they have such an isolated fan base, this CD was never properly promoted, and in my mind will go down as one of the most underrated CD's to ever come out of Detroit in a long time. br / br /Tracks like "Pay Me" (feat. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony), "Boom", "In Detroit", and "Hard Times" are the better songs on the CD, proving that Esham isn't switching his style for nobody. A lot of people say that he switched his style for this CD because he was on Psychopathic; however, why would someone signing to psychopathic switch to a mainstream feel to connect to juggalos? That wasn't his attention at all. Every Esham album has a different sound...it's like drinking Faygo...a lot of flavors to choose from. br / br /So why the "Unholy to holy" thing for this Esham album? My theory is that he was trying to blend into ICP's Sixth Joker's Card installment of Shangri-la by taking the "God" approach such as ICP did for the Wraith's first half. br / br /guest appearances on this record include Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, ICP, Twiztid, and TNT- and 95% of the songs were recorded and produced by Esham (Mike P produced two songs on the record). br / br /If you're interested in following up on the latest happenings of Esham, go to www.acidrap.com and peep his new Judgement Day Box Set which incudes re-masters copies of the first two judgement day albums, new never-heard before released judgement day volumes 3 and 4, a professionally edited concert video from 2004, a brand new Esham LP only available in the boxset called "Marytr City", and a hand-written autograph from Esham himself.

** Green Book, Shangri-La, and Repentance, 2006-07-01
During the time of this LPs release... we all know what Psychopathic was up to. It was more personal music than anything. You can feel that when you listen to the LPs that came out during that era. Twiztid made Green Book. ICP made Shangri-La. Esham made Repentance. br / br /Esham goes off, but c'mon now it isn't "Unholy". br / br /So just know that this takes it in that direction if you are a new Juggalo. br / br /Don't get me wrong his oldschool stuff is scary. It has a lot of bass to it. So you can drive around really slow listening to it.

***** The originator, 2006-02-08
Repentance may not feature the wicked style that old school Esham fans are use to, but it is still and excellent hip-hop album. The great thing about Esham is that he is one of the few rap artists out there that writes all of his lyrics and produces all of his beats. Mike P. did one song on this album, but all the rest were produced by Esham himself. This album breaks the mold of most past Esham's albums in that it features many guest appearances by ICP, Twiztid, Bone Thugs N Harmony and TNT. Best songs are Woo Woo Woo, Paid, Hard Times, Get That Doe, and Boom. Just as it says on the front of the cd, this is Fine Detroit Hip-Hop.

**** I Repent, 2004-12-29
This alright but not a classic, but it has its moments, it starts with a explosive track called Bang which is great, E shouting Bang Bang every few seconds makes this fantastic, but it leads in Can't Take That which is poor compared to the original Can't Take It Cha on the excellent album Closed Casket, i just can't get into the track but then Woo Woo Woo comes on which is just horrible, E has a great flow but its a club song and i can't take it anymore. Pay is the next song and it kills Woo x3 because of the guests Bone Thugs who rip the track up and Esham shines as well, one of the albums best and next it is No More Dyin which is ok, Soopa Doopa is another filler then Back In Da Day is a good song with E telling Detroit rap History, next is Mommy which is crap, Hard Times is next which has a fun beat and ICP appears and makes the track great, next is Ex-Girlfriend where Esham is killing Kim (Em's Wife) which makes it good straight away, next we have Look At Me with Twiztid as guests, this song could have been so much better with Twiztid on here, but it falls flat. Brick is next and has TNT on the track which is alright, Get Doe is more filler, next is Boom with Violent J and it is Hardcore as Hell, banging beat and lyrics violent as f*ck, the albums best, next is Detroit which is anotha great track with TNT, better than Brick, next we have Boss Up which is pretty good and funny because of what he says with the celebs he mentions like Wacko Jacko. Out Cold is a continue from track 7 and its ok, Dem Boyz with Violent J is a great song, every verse is great, next is No War with Jumpsteady and it's horrible and we end the album with the shocking but nice All Of My Life which has a nice female hook and ends the album very well. br /A few song saved this album from being the Worst Esham album ever until i hear Mail Dominance, but the best are Bang, Pay, Hard Times and Boom (Turn Bass Up On Boom because it needs it). Overall an enjoyable album but i think A1 Yola will be better and it drops April 2005 so cop it and cop this for the collection, so cya around Buddy Boys
