***** Talented at being obnoxious, 2006-06-01
I personally love this album. It is in my top 20 favorites. It is an in-your-face release with insanely talented musicianship. Horse the band is an anomoly of it own. While they are extremely talented musicians, they push to be more obnoxious than anyone ever has been. They succeed. Horse is a wonderful blend of ferocious growls and high pitched screams. On R. Borlax, they have so many amazing synth pieces that it astounds me. This is a must have for my collection, but many aren't into the obnoxious side of Horse. If you're a fun loving individual, get this album.

***** Genre-bending crazyness!!!, 2006-05-08
This is good stuff! 80's style keyboards stand out over versatile vocals and an even more versatile band. While it is desrving of the title nintendocore I feel more like I'm listening to a kick ass indie/hardcore/spazcore band that occasionally cuts into a Richard Simmons video. While this may sound unpleasant it is quite enjoyable and deifinitely unique. This would be a very difficult band to compare to others, except maybe to other bands with the same idea: making diverse and interesting heavy music. Some of these bands would be Circle Takes the Square, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, The Blood Brothers, Bear vs. Shark. These are the best comparisons I can make. At 35 mins, nothing is wasted, every second rocks, surprises, and excites. This is innovative, as most spazcore is, and never gets boring. Any fan of hardcore who has a sense of humor should buy this cd. br / br /Favorite song: Bunnies

*    like beating a dead horse, 2006-01-24
this is one of the worst albums iv ever heard. br /im ashamed of owning it. i didnt even buy it, i burned it. br /im ashamed of writing over cd-r with "horse the band" br /im ashamed of having a friend that said "nintendoXcore" (yes, with the X)now just because theres no other better way to say "not quite bad enough to be called hxc and not quite good enough to be called synthpop" br / br /their synth player looks like napolean dynamite. br / br /and at that these guys cant even rip off having a jerk attitude live, they just suck. and they suck at having long hair. br / br /i rather have jamie jasta giving me a backrub by a fireside to six feet under, while reading printoffs of pitchforks favorite albums of 2000-present br / br /folks, the synth build up is greater when i get ready to tinkle at 2 in the morning. br / br /don't waste your time. br /

***** SMASH THOSE BUNNIES!!! CUT CUT CUTTTTT!!!!!, 2005-12-22
wow, this is the heat baby. buy this and get your bedroom mosh on with your homies...somebody's gonna lose an eyeball. It doesn't get any better than an X-large pizza, a case of 40 ozs., NES Metroid on the TV, and R.Borlax jammin' in the background. Smash those bunnies!!!! You'll know what I'm talkin' about. PowerGlove, it's so baaaaad.

**** crazy, 2005-10-12
This CD is great as long as you're someone who appreciates a little insanity in their music. Nintendo-core is what they call it and that's what it is. Metal guitars collide with hardcore vocals and crazy, Nintendo-esque keyboards.
