After being brutally dumped by his knockout ex-girlfriend, Matt (Josh Hartnett, IPearl Harbor/I) is so torn up inside that he vows to give up sexual activity--including masturbation--for Lent. His friends and coworkers start betting on how soon he'll crack. Their skepticism is given fuel when Matt meets Erica (Shannyn Sossamon, IA Knight's Tale/I) at a laundromat. Based on this description, you might think that I40 Days and 40 Nights/I is religious educational video--however, the barrage of sex gags and frequent nudity would quickly dispel this notion. 40 Days and 40 Nights was the worst movie of 2002. I can't believe how many films Josh Hartnett is in, he is the dumbest actor of his generation, yuck! Shannyn Sossamon isn't much better either, I can see why she hasn't done a lot of work. The humor is childish and the plot is inane. Stay away from this turkey!

Nice Little Comedy, 2008-03-25
40 Days and 40 Nights is a simple funny comedy that one can just go into and enjoy. It's good to see Josh Hartnett in a romantic comedy lead I think he pulls it off. The females in the movie are all sexy but I think the film could have used more TA from named charcters and not no name girls. One of the funniest scenes inlucdes Hartnett flying through tit clouds. I give *** out of ****.
