Great album, but he gets even better..., 2005-12-06
Let me start by saying that I own almost every single Daz album and he is one of my favorite rappers (if not #1 on my list). With that said, this is a damn good album, but since I worked backwards with Daz, it doesn't impress me as much as some of the newer DAZ albums. I love this CD, I love everything that Daz does, but the main reason I'm writing this review is to let you know that he got even better after this CD. My favorite all-time Daz CD is the I Got Love In These Streetz album, (get the newer version with 8 extra tracks). That is an abolute BANGER. The other new ones, DPGC: U know what I'm throwin up, and the Dogg Pound Gangsta LP, are #2 and #3 on my list. Unlike most crap rappers, Daz never fell off or sold out, he's still independent, underground, and his CDs get better almost every year. So while this CD is tight (and you can tell by reading all the other reviews), if you are new to Daz or deciding which one is most worth your money, try I Got Love In These Streetz or DPGC: U KNow what I'm thrown up cuz..

A Good Independant Effort From The Ex-Death Row Member, 2004-03-16
Being an independant release, this album was not exactly going to set the west coast on fire, yet it does light up in a few areas of this 21 track album. It kicks off with an irrelevant 'Super Cuz' intro, although 'Street Gangs' is a not only informative but the beat behind it keeps you from pressing the forward button. The partying 'One Nine 99' and the raw west coast sounding 'Who's Knoccin' At My Door' give R.A.W a great beginning and to finish off the first half of the album 'On Tha Grind', the collaboration with now ex-Dogg Pound partner Kurupt, is perhaps the best track on the album.pFrom then on, tracks 11 through to 21 run the album into the ground (the reason behind the 3 stars), which is sad to say really as Dillinger is usually capable of producing material of much better quality then this - check out his 1998 major Death Row release 'Retaliation, Revenge And Get Back' - evidence to show just how high he can really fly. Had R.A.W been a 10 or 12 track disc with the songs mentioned, it would be a much more respectable release.
