***** Aah, When Rap Was This Heated, 2007-04-20
South Central Cartel has a dope underground thing goin' on despite signed to Def Jam for this 1994 joint. Havoc, Prodeje, Havikk, L.V. DJ Gripp and DJ Kaos represent for that So Cali to the fullest. Beatwise, some of the beats may leave a little more to be desired; some may need to grow on you for a while. Then again, there are many that slap while in the deck! Prodeje is nathan to mess wit on the boards and Gripp and Kaos come correct too. Havoc, Prod, and Havi-double-k tear the mic up with those loc'd azz gangster tales. One classic is "Servin' Em Heat" with a loud, bouncy Zapp sample. Dope rappers Big Mike and 3-2 from Rap-A-Lot and southern fame come kick in some g'd up game in the G-Funk-da-fied melody "Gang Stories." "Gangsta Team" is a long but dope track with what else, a team of the best from the west, 2Pac, Spice 1, Ice-T, and MC Eiht trade in verses with SCC makin' a hella tight Bay 2 LA connection over a fast and hard beat. SCC represents the set in "It's A SCC Thang" over one of the best G-Funk beats I've ever heard, perfect to swerve thru the streets with the melodic beats and relentless flows. Gangsta Rap may not have been nathan new by '94, but SCC definitely delivers with their especially heated lyrics. Cali heads should not sleep on this one! G-Funk classics like this should not be slept on, but are. If you like this one, check out Spice 1-AmeriKKKa's Nightmare, Havoc and Prodeje-Kickin Game, Pooh Man- Ain't No Love, Big Mike- Somethin' Serious all from 1994, and G-Funk classics in the gangster vein. Also, peep SCC's 1997 classic All Day Every Day.

**** S.C.C., hmmmmm.........., 2005-12-26
The S.C.C. are'nt that well known to the mainstream , but have been around since 1992 . 1992 when the west coast hip hop scene was largely expanding due to the likes of 2pac , Eazy-E , DJ Quik , MC Eiht, ect ... the S.C.C. were also big contenders at the time [espeically with gangsta convo] . Hip hop was becomming largely popular the S.C.C. which consited of seven members - 3 MC's Prodeje , Havoc , Havikk Rhimeson. Even though S.C.C. have done a video with my loccs B.G. Knocc Out Dre'sta, rumor has it S.C.C. had been in a fued with Eazy-E, now Havoc Prodeje have nothing on the E, because they may be wanna be loccs, so S.C.C. are nothing but fools, Jus tah let ya know! Wuhawahahaha! br / br /S.C.C.'s best are 1, *2, 3, 4, *7, 9, 10, *11, 12, 13, 14, *15(featuring 2pac, MC Eiht, Ice-T Spice 1), 17 18. br /

***** Classic!, 2005-07-15
I love this CD. It got played sooo much in the first years I got it. Its straight gangsta. The production is heavy with sicc rhymes. It's got the classic 'servin'em heat' on too. Haaard album. I would recommend to anyone who likes westcoast. This was better than a lot of other westcoast in 94. Don't let this slide. Peace!

**** 2nd complete group album is pretty good, 2005-06-08
After 3 years since thir 1st complete group album (not counting Havoc Prode'je's albums) they come back with a prettty good album (and their 1st of 2 on Def Jam). Probably tied for my 2nd favorite of their 5 complete group albums (I don't have the one from 1992). The 6 man crew (3 rappers, 1 RB singer, and 2DJ's) they kick what they do on most albums, gangsta tales and some dirty songs. Production is good and mostly handled by Prode'je (like with all their albums) he does all 16 songs, with help from Havikk on 4, DJ Gripp on 3, and DJ Kaos on 1. It has no classics, 1 almost classic, 2 ok songs, none I skip, and the other 13 are good. Guests are on 2 of the 16 songs so you get alot of the SCC. A good album to have for their fans or fans of west coast rap. br / br /#1 - 9 br /#2 - 8 br /#3 - 8 br /#4 - 8.5 (f/ Big Mike 3-2) br /#5 - 8 br /#6 - 8.5 (relaxing beat) br /#7 - 8 br /#9 - 8 br /#10 - 7 br /#11 - 8 br /#12 - 8.5 br /#13 - 9 (good beat) br /#14 - 7.5 br /#15 - 9.5 (f/ Spice 1, MC Eiht, 2Pac, Ice T -- good beat) br /#17 - 8 br /#18 - 9 (good beat) br / br /SCC is: Havoc, Prode'je, Havikk, L.V., DJ Gripp, DJ Kaos br / br /check all my reviews

***** WHEN DA WEST WAS AT ITS PRIME ..[AND THE REST OF THE GAME], 2004-12-29
The scc are'nt that well known to the mainstream , but have been around since 1992 . 1992 when the west coast hip hop scene was largely expanding due to the likes of 2pac , eazy e , dr dre , snoop dogg ect ... the scc were also big contenders at the time [espeically with gangsta convo] . Hip hop was becomming largely popular , the scc which consited of seven members - 3 mc's prodeje , havoc , havikk rhimeson . br /N gats we truss stormed to the scen in mid to late 94 , when things between west n east started to heat up . Dont get confused their is a havoc and prodigy on the east coast aswell known as mobb deep popular new york duo. N gats we truss is one heck of a original gangster rap lp . From start to finish the album just blows out bangin anthems . br /It starts off with "bring it on" -which just brings every thing to life - and comes with a agreat heavy hook . Followed by "dribe bye homicide" - then to "servin em heat" another great original track . But the to the song that really got me into the scc "gang stories " which is a very heavy song -if you've seen 8 mile -you might be familiar with the the song as it is banged in free worlds car throughout the movie . br /The rest of the album delivers some graet tracks , doesant slipp with the apearances of the late great 2pac , mc eight ,and spice1 the album is just amazing if you are a rap fan . Definetly shows how strong hip hop was ! DEFINETLY A GEM br /A MUST HAVE !
