Editorial Review from Product Description:
This contemporary classic, celebrating its twenty-fifth year in print, is no ordinary alphabet book. Why is "Q" for "Duck"? Because a duck quacks, of course. Even the youngest readers will delight in the riddle-like text and lively, humorous illustrations. Now in vivid full color for the first time, this interactive treat is sure to be enjoyed by a whole new generation of readers.

** Confusing for younger kids, 2007-08-12
This sounded like a cute book, so I borrowed this from the library before buying it for my almost 3-year old, who loves books. I read the first few pages and then had to make up my own words so that he wouldn't get confused. Instead of the actual words, I said stuff like "Q is not for duck, but ducks quack and quack begins with Q." Well... you get what I mean. I didn't buy it. br / br /It would be a cute book for an older child who alredy KNOWS his alphabet. The target age group needs to be higher. It is definitely not for any preschooler.

**** A Review of "Q is for Duck", 2005-09-04
Boy, have they got the age range wrong on this one. This book would be meaningless to a baby or toddler-- and rather right, I think, for a preschooler or kindergartener which is no doubt why is was on my entering kindergartener's Summer Reading List. br / br /A typical example of the book's mental puzzles would be : "D is for Mole". br /Why? br /"Because a Mole Digs" br / br /Want another example? br / br /"G is for Horse br /Why? br /Because a Horse Gallops" br / br /Pretty funny kindergartener stuff. And this pretty much exemplifies how the rest of the book runs. With the exception of a few choices that deal with digging, galloping and flying; most of the questions are answered by the sound that an animal makes. br / br /Four Stars. Very good brain enhancing (educational) material that will make most kids stop and think if only for a moment.

***** My Daughters All Time Favorite, 2001-10-11
My daughter is now 24 and she still has her copy of Q is for Duck she has had since she was 2. She had the book memorized when she was 2 and we had to read book every day for as long as I remember. She kept her copy for her children. I now want all my grandchildren to enjoy this excellent book.

***** Imagination, Need I say More?, 2000-05-03
I did a story hour project for my Children's Literature class and this is one of the books I read to them. They really enjoyed it because it kept them guessing what the letters stood for. This book helps the child to expand their imagination because this book is not the usual alphabet books that says "A is for Apple". This book expands that horizon by incorporating the sounds the animals make. I would recommend this book to anyone.
